Latinx in Charge
Latinx in Charge

The growing Latinx community in Northeast Florida has
begun to come into its own in political, economic,
educational and societal influences. Gaining access to
increased technological platforms, tools and Apps to
share the increased business interests on a global
foundation.  Latinx, Latina, Latino, Afro-Latinx are
making dynamic challenges in their local, national
and international communities.

Many men, women, boys and girls that are Latinx
like Aida Correa my finance’ which inspires this blog
are Involved in creating positive and productive
changes that are a needed influence to the cultural
diversity of Northeast Florida.

Jacksonville has open arms to encourage Latinx owners
of business and entrepreneurial passions to come to
Jacksonville and share their skills and talents. To build
Brands of diversity, inclusivity and influence.

Technology embraces diversity with the building of smart
creatives, digital innovators and artists. This blog is a
shout-out to the growing Latinx communities in Jacksonville.
Inspired by Aida Correa born in Brooklyn, New York and her
passions to build bridges of business, educational, cultural
and entrepreneurial collaborations that promote growth
and acceptance.

The growing accessibility of content creators is having
phenomenal growth and elevation for Latinx women.
Technology is a great force for leveling the fields of
educational access to cultural resources and for women
of diversity to connect and collaborate with each other.
It is common knowledge that when women are involved
in educational pursuits the village, neighborhood,
community and city benefits.

One of the greatest growths can be seen in the Latinx
community and their application of Social Media and
Tech in building their Brands and Marketing their services.
The fastest growing demographic of content creators and
entrepreneurs in online environments that are building
thought leaders, digital innovators and smart creatives
are Women of Color particularly Latinx.

The growth of women that have cultural backgrounds of
diversity are finding their voices and building collaborations
on social, economic, educational and global connections
that affect all aspect of their lives. Women of Latinx are being
recognized in the roles of Influencers and “Agents of Change.”
Women are changing the paradigm of intellectualism and
thought leadership because of their content. The growing
opportunities for leadership development and even influencing
economic elevation, tech has the power to change the world
of individuals and cultures.

“Content is King” (Bill Gates) and “Engagement is Queen.”
Women are great engagers, their conversations and
interactions are not just information based, but generational
because when you educate women you educate generational
communities that are seen in the Latinx community.
Because of this many that are non-Latinx become fearful
of the changes that will come.  Latinx communities are
building digital bridges to collaborate and share ideas,
resources, products and services. To grow their community
and educate their children to be future leaders and innovators.

So strong is the influence to tech conferences that Latinx
women like Aida Correa are sought after to speak about
her journey in tech fields. Having spoken internationally
in Canada, Costa Rica, invited to speak in Central America
about the value of diversity, inclusivity, emerging digital
thought leadership and The Arts in Tech.

Latinx Future

The knowledge is passed down and that knowledge to real
life situations is taught, knowledge is not powerful, applied
knowledge is powerful and changing when it is applied.
Diversity of content creation provides a visual that extends
beyond a person to embrace learning and expansion of
intellectualism. The thought processes of today are changing
because we are a thinking society that has merged from
manual labor.

Women are transporters and engagers of information. Latinx
content creators like Aida Correa, LoveBuilt Life, LLC
#LoveBuiltLife https://wordpress.tv/?s=aida+correa on
WordPress TV, are changing the digital landscapes of Social
Media, business ownership, web development, blogging and
speaking  at conferences.

Aida Correa a speaker at WordCamp has spoken at multiple
conferences,  a sponsor of WordCamp in the national
and international levels. She is changing the paradigm of how
Women of Color, Latinx are thought of as business leaders,
owners, developers of intellectual thought and digital influence.
Aida is not alone because there are others growing and sharing
their knowledge. When they are noticed they should be promoted,
elevated and given a seat at the tables of technology businesses.

The engagement of Latinx women is growing and expanding as
girls and young women of color see content creators that look
like them, sound like them and are seen in their communities
engaged and involved. The more girls of color are seeing women
of color working to be successful this builds future women
business owners that starts the process of generational wealth
and financial / educational stability.

Where Latinx families are demanding that their children seek
advanced degrees, certifications and leadership roles in business
and industry. The media is not kind to the Latinx community,
political administrations are not being kind to the Latinx community.
So those in the Latinx communities are creating changes within
and outside.

Businesses understand the dynamics of the lack of women and
minorities, “tech companies across the nation have over and
over said they must do better, Blacks and Hispanics still remain
underrepresented in tech jobs by nearly 50 percent.”
https://www.brookings.edu/research/ This information encourages,
Latinx to be their own bosses and create their own tech businesses
to make changes on their own terms and not having their ideas
stolen or copied by corporate giants.

Latinx women are influencing changes in technology quickly and quietly,
they are changing the perceptions that have been wrongly presented
by film, movies, television and mass media.  Latinx content creators
are changing the perceptions America and even the world. To expand
their growth women must continue to evolve and expand their knowledge,
their exposure, their access and their environments to participate and
contribute in the area of technology and even STEM, STEAM, STREAM.

Aida Correa 2019
Aida Correa 2019

Community activist, blogger, actor, poet, spoken word artist like
Ms. Correa are changing the mind-sets of communities like  Jacksonville.
Providing workshops in Art and STREAM that are attended by youth,
teens and young adults. Latinx women are expanding their
influence to show that cultural diversity in communities are valuable
and beneficial to a community and city as a whole.

Each person brings knowledge, experience, skill-sets, resources and
energy to create affective and beneficial change that encourages
communities, cities, states and nations to grow united in strength.
Change is happening, the paradigm of a glass ceiling has been shattered
and destroyed. Latinx women with a passion in Tech, STEM, STREAM
and other areas are growing and making influences that are changing
the perceptions wrongly created by mass media, bias and racism.

To aid in the growth of diversity with women in technology requires
families to support girls in their dreams. To inspire them to look at
careers that match their passions, visions and intellectualism.  The
ability to influence minds is not hard when you can find that it
can make positive change. There needs to be a common goal of
growth, achievement, equality, equitability and providing everyone
a seat at the table that truly represents inclusivity and emerging
influence of the Latinx community.

A Business Perspective on Social Activism and SoLoMoCo

Create My Voice

A Business Perspective on Social Activism and SoLoMoCo

My Quest to Teach – #MyQuestToTeach

During this pandemic business owners should take
advantage of dynamic and engaged opportunities to
understand Branding, creating Niches as a business
owner; the foundation of understanding the value
of digital content in relation to business and
entreprenurials.

Applying the So-Lo-Mo-Co concepts that are applied
not just in business, but ministry. Connecting
digital tools to social engagement and activism.
So-social Lo-local Mo-mobile Co-community uses of
Social Media platforms and tools to share content
and collaborate in dynamic and engaged projects.
The pandemic forces changes in the use and
application of digital tools. Meeting face to face
in business and ministry will change for years to
come.
Intellectual property will be more valuable than
physical structures.

Business owners should be engaged with their communities
using digital platforms that are not just used to gain
profits, but to apply digital tools to build relationships
and influence the thinking of the community. Engagement is
key, changing the perspectives of the community, to empower
the community to see what changes need to be made and
providing the resources to create necessary social, economic
and educational improvements so everyone can benefit.

The knowledge that is necessary is available at the finger
tips of everyone. Technology has cleared the way to gaining
as much knowledge as necessary to manage the changes in
thinking of running remote businesses. There are no excuses
for the lack of learning to grow a business. Business owners
take their level of engagement and influence digital using
intellectual references that influences thinking locally,
nationally and globally.

In order to have a strong and stable community, businesses
should know the needs of their communities, the challenges
that are present and how they can collaborate with local
schools, ministries and even higher educational institutions.
These connections help build partnerships that allow for
potential internships to cultivate new talent and
new innovators. Businesses that lack connections with higher
education are missing great opportunities for future employees
that have the skills necessary to grow and compete.

Employment opportunities for youth, teens and young
adults are growing in this digital world if they are
willing to put in the work, have a vision for the
future. The challenge for youth, teens and
young adults is to understand that learning is ongoing,
it never stops and building professional learning
networks and taking advantage of professional learning
communities does matter.

Aida Speaking in YYC

Learning how to apply SoLoMoCo so connections are growing,
changes in the community are being made that benefit the
community not just one individual. The pandemic is showing
that community work is needed to assist in strengthening
financial resources, educational opportunities and
changing thinking directions.

Wireless communication infrastructures are important to
build connections that open collaborations and create
connections for social, educational and economic activism.
People need to understand that the power of digital
engagement is more than social engagements it can be used
to open doors for economic growth. Building a Brand and
creating a Niche for business minded youth, teens and
young adults.

Communities are only as stable and strong as the
generational workforce coming up. The community
only grows with the talents and availability of youth,
teens and young adults. The challenge with many
communities is that children lack exposure and
mentor ships that guide them into innovators,
creators and dreamers of change. When children cease to
dream this is a dangerous sign that there is a lack of
vision for future creativity.

Social digital activism in bringing people together for
economic empowerment and building Entreprenurialism,
Branding and finding that Niche to connect with.
Establishing a digital footprint that is relevant
and realistic in the community where many will benefit
from services and products made available that can be
accessible while online. Economic empowerment can only
change when communities show that they are worthy of
investments and future building. Technology must be
applied efficiently.

Community technology workshops are important because
they will show that people have a vision for their
communities. Having opportunities to teach, mentor, guide
and empower generations. Looking at communities across the
nation that have wonderful potential for growth and investments.

Take time to meditate on these words and see how
they can apply to personal life. Do not be scared
of these words, but embrace them to build
communities of hope and purpose. Each neighborhood
is part of a community, each community is part of
the body of a city. Community begins to die when
investments stop, when people stop seeing the
value of the people in neighborhoods and communities.
Just as a body that is decaying, its parts shutdown
and eventually the whole body is affected.

The rights to influence the community on a path of
growth, productivity, inclusion in the economic and
political process is needed if a city is to be the
foundation for all. People need to learn to
bring about a mental change of elevation and stability
in growth economically, educationally and even
environmentally.

KidsCamp Miami 2020
KidsCamp Miami 2020

How many opportunities youth, teens young adults
see men and women in events that do not include sports
and entertainment. The careers of the 21st and 22nd
century are here, youth need exposure and opportunities
and people that will build them to be 21st and 22nd
century leaders.

If children only see ONE side of the story they will
only stay on that ONE side. If children only see others that
look like them as labours, lower educated and lower economic
status many will accept this as normal and not try to improve
their lives. Vision is valuable, vision is memorable and vision
is generational.

Digital Jobs Globally
Digital Jobs Globally

Applying So – Social awareness to change in the community
using digital technologies can reach people and make
those connections. Lo – Local engagement is important
because of the influences of investments, promoting and
gaining the attention of the community and building families.
Mo – Mobile technologies that are growing and adapting
for people to branch out and collaborate across borders.
To continue to build digital infrastructures that encourage
young minds to enter into STEAM careers and grow beyond
their current economic, educational and social situations.
Co – Communities needs to see people growing, educated, employed
and engaged in learning and economic growth and development.

Intro:
There is a growing need for content creators from diverse backgrounds
to tell their stories. To share their experiences and to encourage
the need and acceptance for diversity and using the ability to speak,
write, teach and deliver transformative content. Having a seat at the
table means the ability to effect change and collaborate with others
that have similar goals, missions and visions.

These stories are from the diverse backgrounds of men and women,
culturally diverse backgrounds, gender neutral to gender specific.
Youth, teens and young adults, American, African, Central American
and European, a global community of content creators.

In this iThemes webinar, educator and blogger William Jackson will explain
how to use WordPress as a platform to encourage the acceptance and tolerance
of the human story, and share your voice.

There are always blessings for learning no matter what
situations and circumstances you are in as an educator.
We are taught to look for learning opportunities all
around us to share with our students and engage them
in seeing how wonderful all learning is. How knowledge
can build on itself and allow our eyes, ears and senses
to embrace our environments to inspire our passion for
learning.

Every child, every child has the right to receive an
education to that prepares them to be the future
leaders, creatives, innovators, dreamers and thought
leaders the world will need. As can be seen with COVID19
medical professionals, educators, artists, innovators
and others that are thought leaders and dreamers their
skills are needed to save lives.

Transitioning to online educators and digital creators
of educational content teachers have to look past the
perceived limits of teaching online and discover
the opportunities to embrace and integrate learning on
multiple digital platforms, even in-person learning look
to the potential in your teaching to save lives through
your experiences.

Using our educational content to fit on digital
devices from phones (android or apple), to tablets,
to laptops, to desktops to even watches. Our content
must be able to go anywhere to provide learning.
Using Slack, TEAMS, YouTube, Zoom and other software
flexibility is important because our students still
learn differently and seek our guidance, love, discipline
and knowledge to overcome multiple challenges. Do not
assume your students get this at home, they look to
teachers to save the world and to keep them safe. This is
a fact so understand your responsibility as a professional.

We knew online learning this was coming!! From all the
studies, the research, the workshops, the seminars
there was always the knowledge that traditional educational
methods would be forever changed and teaching would
move more and more to digital platforms. We were just
slow embracing this in public education. Colleges and
universities in many cases already were implementing
online and distance learning models. Things in public
education are sometimes slow to adapt and implement
change. Sometimes they are thrown at us by others in
leadership that have political agendas, unrealistic ideas
of what really happens in a classroom and use education
as their political scape-goat and platform for self-deprication.

Even in SciFi programs like Star Trek, Deep Space Nine
and others we would see glimpses of learning by children,
teens and even adults learning on devices. Technology has
shown us another way to reach our children, our youth,
our teens and young adults. Parents must buy into this as
well or there will be struggles and challenges. Teachers
must educate students, parents and families to the values
multiple ways of learning and student engagement.

Wash Your Hands Clean Your House
Wash Your Hands Clean Your House

The movie The Matrix had direct cerebral connections
where Neo and Trinity would request an “upload” and
they would learn a new skill and new knowledge to
perform a task. These concepts are not too far away
because if we see it in a movie or on television there is
ongoing research to make this a reality. The consideration
must be though of just because we can (potentially)
do this should we?

Life and education go hand in hand. There is always
change and teachers need to be able to adapt not just
to the environmental situations of their classrooms,
but adapt to the emotional and psychological changes
happening to their students. Many school districts have
provided Mental Health Training to teachers already, but
the challenges of isolation, social distancing and
lack of diverse human contact will be felt when schools
return to traditional learning patterns. Teachers must
be ready to meet their students needs and even their
own children.

There will be psychological scars, emotional damages,
mental disconnections and slight learning delays so
differentiated instruction and other strategies will have
to be used. Teachers do not have all the answers to
servicing their students, they are not Superman or
Superwoman, know your limits as well and seek help
when necessary.

Unfortunately school administrations are different,  so
be sure to have a teacher(s) to talk to, vent to, confide
in and bounce ideas off of.  Have access to mental
counselors for yourself and even family counselors so
your professional stresses will not dramatically affect
your household and family responsibilities.

New teachers should stay encouraged in their profession
and understand that even in an online environment they
are still making a difference. Use these opportunities to
continue to reach out to your students and embrace their
minds with the great potential for learning online.
This is not a setback, but a setup for their future as
digital teachers in multi-faceted and learning opportunities
that will assist new teachers in building Professional
and Personal Learning Communities and Networks.

Students now see that many of them will be working from
home, they will be engaged in collaborative learning,
they will see the diversity of learning with other
students of different genders, ideologies, religious
beliefs, socio-economic backgrounds and with wealth
of having or the struggles of not having.

Education is one of, if not the only career where teachers
teach all students with love, respect, impartiality,
acceptance of diversity and a blindness to the lack
of what all children should have, but do not have. The
family structure is not perfect, nothing in life is, but our
actions, decisions, successes and even failures define
us and either help us grow if we allow it, or if we chose
to drown ourselves in our defeats.

The works of new teachers is important because their
energies are important to keep up with energetic youth.
New teachers are needed as seasoned teachers share their
knowledge with them as they retire. New teachers are needed
so that they can see the struggles of their peer parents that
are parenting new generations of children and support parents
with knowledge and resources. New teachers are needed because
they are better to understand students that are closer to them
in age, gender and generation.

Even during times such as these it is always important
to understand that we are not experts in everything,
but collectively as educational professionals we have
access to phenomenal knowledge that we all share together
to make us better educators. Motivating us to be better
mentors for our students and even their families.

About the body and the virus
About the body and the virus

We influence more families now because parents, children,
families and the community are looking for our leadership
for a bit of normalcy and stability. Teachers are a
foundation of knowledge that will help all our students
and even influence the growth and embracing of families
to the value and importance of education for the whole
family not just one or two children. There was a time
that educators where held in high praise and esteem,
maybe these situations will build teachers back up to
past levels and respect and education will gain new
levels of dignity.

Teachers have become part of all our students families
because we are involve in text chats, video chats, YouTube
videos. Sharing knowledge from our own personal experiences.
COVID19 has demanded that we work together to support
educational innovators that will potentially continue
to teach online or have hybrid classes in the future.

New teachers are primed for the future of educational
change, adaptation, revolution and evolution to service
the changes COVID19 has thrust upon us. I encourage
new teachers to grow in your passions to make a difference
in your communities, your cities and your chosen careers.
You do make a difference in each of your students lives.
