Applying multiple types of technology to help
redefine education and business through Virtual
Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In Jackson’s keynote address at the 2025 L&D Africa
conference held in Nairobi, Kenya educator and
entrepreneur Jackson discusses how Virtual Reality
(VR) is revolutionizing the landscapes of African
education and business.
Emphasizing that immersive technology acts as
a powerful tool in equalizing opportunities,
removing physical and geographical barriers for
students with limited mobility or those in remote
areas. The size of Africa itself is massive, with
diverse ecosystems, environmental changes, ecological
uniqueness and cultural diversities that are not
found anywhere else in the world.
By integrating Artificial Intelligence with virtual
environments, Jackson argues that learners can gain
hands-on experiences in high-stakes fields like marine
biology, forestry, agriculture, environmental studies
and space exploration without leaving the classroom.
Limitations cannot be placed in the classroom, with
high-speed data transmission through wireless
technologies Africans across the continent can
communicate across urban, rural, rainforest, dessert,
and other environmental conditions.
Beyond academics, the opportunity to research fosters
professional development by allowing young entrepreneurs
to practice leadership and collaboration through
customizable digital identities. Ultimately, Jackson
advocates for the widespread adoption of these tools to
create a more inclusive, accessible, and imaginative future
for the next generation of digital leaders.
It is imperative that Africa’s educational systems integrate
across continental resources like ICT communities the
educational enhancements associated with AI, VR, Metaverse
and IoT. The future is now with 4IR creativity, innovation
and applying unmatched imagination.
