Seniors of today are rapidly learning that their
skills needed to maintain employment and even
gain career promotions are influenced by AI.
Understanding AI empowers todays seniors to
navigate an increasingly automated world, the
developing 4IR & 4IRE ecosystems (4th Industrialized
Revolution & 4th Industrialized Revolution and
Evolution).
Recognizing the need for more creative and
critical thinking AI can help in many ways.
This basic literacy moves beyond simple fear
of technology to a place of informed, productive
and critical use, helping seniors build confidence
and protect against AI-driven scams.

Like any tech, the possibility of scams,
schemes and illegal activity is a potential
that is faced by a growing number of seniors
new to AI and even VR.
Generative tools like Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot,
and Claude are powerful for boosting digital skills.
They offer accessible ways to draft complex
communications, summarize complex topics, and
organize daily tasks, effectively lowering the
barrier to entry for complex computing usage.
As Chancellor and Minister Jackson, who started
using AI in 2024 at the age of 62, stated:
“Mastering the AI basics wasn’t about coding,
nor corporate inclusion; it was about keeping
my professional edge as a Chancellor, Minister
and Educator of 3 decades relevant and fresh.
Enriching daily professional business and a
servant ministry life. It’s the new standard
for engagement.”
Embracing these tools maintains cognitive
engagement and ensures seniors remain connected
and self-reliant in modern society, transforming
the smartphone or tablet into a powerful personal
assistant. An assistant that is not judgmental,
sarcastic nor seeing the aging process as a curse
but a time for caring, patience and continued
purpose in life. AI helps in protecting seniors
from scams because the more you know the more
you grow and open new doors for careers
and connections.

A quote from Dr. Jose Marquez – Leon, PhD,
February 10, 2025
“Artificial intelligence (AI) isn’t just for
tech-savvy youth: seniors are increasingly
discovering that AI can enhance their lives
in meaningful ways. From tools that simplify
daily routines to apps that promote mental
well-being, AI has become a valuable ally
for aging with grace and confidence.”
Applying AI can build seniors into digital
natives and digital influences even after
55. Jackson has stated, “technologies can
provide seniors with more control over their
daily lives, helping them/us manage health
conditions, stay in touch with loved ones
over long distances, and access information.”

Today’s and tomorrow’s youth are not the only
ones enjoying and benefitting from tech
benefits. Super seniors are digitally
inclined and creatively climbing into
digital ecosystems and immersive environments.
Embracing AI allows seniors to take an
active role in re-shaping their future,
empowering their life to the fullest while
aging gracefully.
