Training opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI)
are vital to building literacy and empowerment
in Black communities, especially through
accessible devices like Smartphones.
With AI-powered reading apps, text-to-speech
tools, and culturally relevant digital books,
students with lower reading levels and
comprehension can learn in engaging ways
that reflect their identities.

Representation Matters by providing visual
opportunities for Black and Hispanic children
seeing themselves in stories inspires creativity
and confidence and fuels a love for literacy.

The recent four-part AI Ethics series from
Dad Is Not A Noun podcaster Ismael Street
and guests Ministers Jackson’s of Launch
Church Jax highlights both the benefits and
challenges of AI. Black and Hispanic
communities are often forgotten and not
supported often because of their lack of
economic and political power.

Educational access and exposure with
mentors is the key to building future leaders
and influencers in Black and Hispanic
communities. Representation Matters

As certified AI and VR Educators, the Jacksons
emphasize responsible, faith-based technology
integration, mentorship and inclusivity for both
boys and girls. Collaborations not just with
schools, but community organizations and
faith-based groups that can visualize how
our children and even grandchildren of parents
need to learn new digital ecosystems.

The Jackson’s global teaching experiences
from the United States to Africa, Europe, and
Latin America underscores how digital
literacy, guided by ethical principles, can
transform reading, learning, and leadership
across generations in the Black community.
The similarities are what happens in the Black
community is similar in the Hispanic community.

The AI series presented a dialogue and discussion
by the creator Street (New York) and William
and Aida, Jacksonville, Florida. William was
born and raised in Philly, while Aida was born
and raised in New York. They make up a team
that is a blended family of Black and Afro-Latina
the shows there are people of color and culture
involved in diverse areas of tech.

They have been engaged in AI initiatives since
2022, locally in the Jacksonville community,
nationally in conferences, podcasts and
webinars sharing their knowledge and
experiences. Their global presence has inspired
youth, teens and young adults in India, United
