The ability to reach students where they are with imagination,
innovation and creativity will need to integrate Virtual Realty,
Immersion and Imagination. BCA is initiating a program of
metaverse with their growing immersive site

Where Brown Bears will have access to learning materials
on the Metaverse that incorporates Virtual Reality Education.
VR Education will enhance reading progression by bringing
stories to life. Immersed in 360-degree environments using
Spatial.io to create immersive story-based environments
will allow young scholars to step inside the world of books.
When children can explore settings and interact with
characters this helps build reading comprehension, vocabulary
acquisition, and emotional connection to stories.

VR allows students to hear and seeing the story, they’re
living it, which strengthens understanding and memory

Even for ESE students’ multisensory engagement for diverse
learners that have diverse learning can apply auditory, visual,
others kinesthetics.
The BCA metaverse classroom incorporates 3D visuals, sound
effects, animated characters, and interactive text. This supports
ELL (English Language Learners) and students with special
learning needs who benefit from repetition, visual cues, and
interaction. The blossom of VR education is every child gets
a more personalized, accessible path to literacy that is
interactive.

Reading signs in a virtual world that reinforce sight words
and sound recognitions is a game changer for students
behind and needing to catch-up to their peers. Building
confidence, scaling and building a foundation for attention
and functionality is key. This approach makes phonics and
decoding fun, tactile, and engaging—perfect for the daily
focus on literacy in the Becoming model.

Virtual Storytime with Avatars and Live Educators in
the Metaverse site, teachers or avatars can lead live
or recorded story times. Students watch, listen, and then
interact with the virtual setting to answer questions,
or complete related reading activities. Extends the daily
read-aloud into immersive comprehension experiences.
Increased listening comprehension and oral language
development, are two vital early literacy skills.
Immersion can lead to cultural representation and power.
The Metaverse site can be designed with cultural themes,
culturally relevant stories, and characters that look like
the students. This enhances identity, pride, and connection
to literature.

Bringing the parental and community involvement
are important by inviting parents into the virtual
classroom during Metaverse Literacy Nights that
will come. Alignments with Becoming’s Literacy
Focused Models means literacy is purposeful,
powerful, and Becoming Collegiate Academy’s
daily prioritization of literacy can be deepened.
The hope and dream is to inspire parents, grandparents,
aunties, uncles, and extended families to be reading
leaders, adventurers, explorers no matter what
level they are.

Building a VR literacy environment for Becoming Collegiate
Academy is more than just adding tech, it’s about
transforming how children experience reading.
Blending technology, imagination, culture, and instruction,
helping students fall in love with reading, building confidence,
and become powerful learners in and out of the classroom.
