It’s crucial that girls and women internationally gain
proficiency in AI, VR, and the Metaverse. These technologies
are not just the future; they’re the present, and excluding
women from their development and use would be a
profound loss globally.
As a professor, business owner, CEO, entrepreneur and
parent/grandparent I want my girls to be supported,
mentored, encouraged and inspired.
Here are 10 reasons why:
1. Shaping the Future of Technology:
* The Metaverse, AI, and VR are being built now.
Women’s perspectives are essential to ensure these
spaces are inclusive and equitable. As stated by
those who are developing these technologies,
“The Future is Now.”
If women are not involved in these developments,
then the future will be built without their input.
We will miss out on creativity, imagination, forward
thinking, critical problem-solving and innovation.
2. Bridging the Gender Gap in Tech:
* Currently, women are underrepresented in STEAM fields.
Training in these cutting-edge technologies can help
close this gap, empowering women to pursue careers in
multiple area of tech.
3. Fostering Creativity and Innovation:
* AI, VR, and the Metaverse offer unprecedented tools
for creative expression. Women can use these platforms
to create art, music, stories, and experiences that reflect
their unique perspectives.
Creating nurturing and inspiring stories and taking
storytelling to new levels as being done across
Africa and India.
4. Driving Economic Empowerment:
* These technologies are creating new economic
opportunities. Women trained in these areas can
become entrepreneurs, developers, and
creators, contributing to economic growth of families,
communities and nations. Mexico is a prime example
with its woman President Claudia Sheinbaum.

* VR and AI can revolutionize education, providing immersive
and personalized learning experiences. This is especially

limited. Globally girls and women are still being denied the
human right to a equitable education.
Data shows that the better educated girls and women are
the more prosperous that nation and their economies are.

and women’s voices need amplification and global engagement to
effect policies, principles and procedures.

* VR can provide immersive experiences that allow

and other areas.
