Sharing concepts and ideas how teachers in
Central, South America and Mexico can apply AI
and Metaverse Education to impact student growth
and achievement.
Teaching at the recent WordPress Youth and Teen
workshop in Managua, Nicaragua, Central America
provided a powerful image with a message that youth
and teens are excited in learning how to use digital
tools, AI, VR, Metaverse to increase their digital skills.

Immersive and Gen AI tools are allowing youth and
teens to explore learning opportunities outside of their
communities. These engagements help to overcome
the “Digital Divide” that even happens in nations in
Central and South America.
Mexico, a neighbor of the United States there are
challenges to accessing digital tools, apps, and
platforms that have the potential for expanded growth
and development outside of the normal educational
channels.
One of the influences of economic stability, and growth
is having direct access to technology that encourages
growth, wellbeing, entrepreneurialism and business
development and ownership.
The Internet and the Metaverse allow for increased
exposure and access to content that can build learning
leaders, innovation in design and modeling, access to
cultural history and make connections that build
collaborations.

Teaching in Managua was a blessing to me and my wife
because we could see the hunger for knowledge, and
access. Teaching the youth from ages 6yrs to 10 and
teaching the teens from 10yrs to 18 was a great experience.
The opportunity to teach key subjects like AI (Artificial
Intelligence), VR (Virtual Reality), Metaverse, Avatars and
key elements to inspire learning.
There is a difference internationally in how there are
priorities in learning and applying. Youth and teens across
the United States are in many cases spoiled and privileged
be they have direct access to Smartphones, video games,
laptops at schools, but they do not receive in most cases
formal training in the application of tech and the seriousness
of how tech can be used to start a business.
Youth and teens in regions like Central America, Mexico,
across Europe and Canada are more excited about the
learning aspects of hands-on learning engagements and
formal trainings. Schools are slowly changing in other nations,
but American schools seem to be fighting the technological
changes that are occurring and will be making changes in the
near future.

Many schools block access to digital tools, have policies that
students cannot use AV, VR, Immersive Learning. Those
schools are setting up their students for future failure when they
attempt to start careers that require digital skills and knowledge.
We have taught for 3 years in Europe, Central America, across
Africa and growing in other parts of the world. There are minimal
places growing that will allow for trainings even workshops in
public education.

The power of the Internet and Metaverse are set to change the
mind-sets of millions of people
1. Using Gen AI can help with reading proficiency and the ability
to comprehend because of the questions being asked by the
youth and teens and the requirement to read the answers.
2. Students are the owners of their learning and the captains of
their questions that spark their interest to learn more.
3. Students will learn why spelling is important with technology
not just being told it is important they will see for themselves
in their typing.
4. Students with accessibility issues will become mentally
and intellectually involved and engaged. This can lead to better
testing and assessment success.
5. Students using Gen AI that are not English Language
Learners ELL can be introduced to a new tool that they can
use to learn English faster and more efficiently.
6. Students can apply what they are learning to future career
options, job choices and see themselves as intelligent,
creative, and innovative.
AI will not judge them, bully them, be mean to them.
7. Students can learn to use AI to help them to be storytellers,
content creators, artists with words and elevate their sense
of self-esteem and self-respect.
8. Teachers can facilitate learning discoveries by applying
projects that guide students to be authors, writers, storytellers,
journalists.  These are phenomenal times where youth and
teens can see themselves as published authors. What a great
time to be engaged and active.
